OPEN POSITIONS

Asst. Treasurer

  • Receive all moneys and securities, and deposit in a depository approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Keep records for the receipt and disbursement of all moneys and securities of NLA, approve all payments from allotted funds and draw checks therefore in agreement with policies established in advance of such actions by the Board of Directors.
  • Prepare an annual budget, under the direction of the President, for submission to the Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting.
  • Prepare an annual financial report, under the direction of the President, for submission to the Membership and Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting.
  • Maintain relationship with insurance agent of record, understand existing coverages and facilitate any insurance verification for NLA involvement in outside programs.
  • Maintain relationship with accountant, including provide tax information and reconciling financial statement on NLA accounting software.
  • Organize and maintain referee payment structure.
  • Accept role with initial intent to succeed Treasurer.
  • The responsibilities of NLA Treasurers may be divided between Treasurer and Asst Treasurer.

 

 

Fundraising & Outreach Director

  • Act as Committee lead for annual Pound on the Sound jamboree.
  • Conduct research and write fundraising proposal.
  • Communicate with potential donors.
  • Work with Communications & Registration Directors to create ways to raise awareness via marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.
  • Organizing and attend events and networking with relevant members.
  • Build and maintain relationships with value added community members and organizations.

 

Supplies Committee Director

  • Monitoring and maintain equipment and machinery to support NLA
  • Review existing licenses and service agreements, as well as look for product alternatives, with the goal of maintain like performance with a lower cost structure.
  • Stay informed about equipment rules and compliance.
  • Communicate with the NLA Treasury about needs.
  • Communicate with Boy and Girls Program Directors about needs.
  • Work with Directors and coaches to maintain the security of NLA owned equipment, including goals and storage facilities.

 

CONNY Representative

  • Represent NLA on the CONNY Board of Directors.
  • Inform the NLA Board of pending CONNY Board votes on bylaws, rules, regulations, procedures, and other policies that will affect NLA, and assure that the NLA Board has an opportunity to determine NLA’s position on such votes.
  • Assure that NLA is properly represented in person or by proxy at all CONNY Board of Directors meetings and CONNY Girls Division and CONNY Boys Division meetings.

 

 

Asst Vice President of Girls Program

  • Define the team structure and coaching assignments for their gender specific Norwalk Junior Lacrosse programs and present to the Board.
  • Recruit, onboard, and assign coaches/managers and maintain weekly communication.
  • Represent coaches/managers on NLA Board.
  • Present an annual coach/manager training budget to the Board.
  • Ensure all coaches meet all CONNY coaching education requirements and uphold all CONNY rules and regulations
  • Ensure all game scores are recorded accurately on the CONNY website, or if not a CONNY competition, on the NLA website.
  • Schedule practices and games, unless otherwise the responsibility of a dedicated NLA member or director.
  • Lead and maintain any referee needs, including recruitment and compliance.
  • Accept role with initial intent to succeed VP of Girls Program.
  • Manage uniform, equipment, and supplies logistics, unless otherwise the responsibility of a dedicated NLA member or director.
  • Create and/or review existing curriculum and facilitate changes and implantation, unless otherwise the responsibility of a dedicated NLA member or director.
  • Assist in organizing social gatherings and social media communication, unless otherwise the responsibility of a dedicated NLA member or director.
  • Communicate with and assist Norwalk community with registration process, unless otherwise the responsibility of a dedicated NLA member or director.

Asst. Communications & Registration Director

  • Set up and manage the official NLA website.
  • Set up and maintain online registration.
  • Assign online administrative rights to other members.
  • Encourage creation of team web sites to other members.
  • Ensure that NLA news is updated online on a regular basis.
  • Communicate with and assist Norwalk community with registration process.
  • Collect, post, and distribute important information on NLA activities including fund-raising and sponsor activities.
  • Serve as primary contact person for US Lacrosse and Sports Illustrated Play regarding optimizing use of the internet for NLA administration and for distributing information to participants and their families.
  • Maintain and update communications to with the Norwalk community, including social media.
  • The responsibilities of NLA Communications & Registration needs may be divided between the Communications & Registration Directors, with one primarily managing communication and the other registration.

 

City Liaison Director

  • Lead communication with Norwalk Recreation and Parks Department regarding field usage and maintenance.
  • Work with NLA Treasurers and present any data points required by Norwalk Recreation and Parks Department.
  • Forward think about how to make for better playing conditions and better program experience.

 

 

 

Advisory – New positions, Board meeting attendance not mandatory

 

Medical Advisor

  • Review current NLA standards for health care compliance and protocol and propose to the Board any suggestions for change.
  • Compare NLA standards to US Lacrosse, CONNY and other relevant athletic organizations.
  • Create Medical Advisory Committee if need based.
  • Diligence and advise on any emergency medical issues.
  • Create a NLA Healthcare Curriculum and Response Guide.

 

Legal Advisor

  • Review NLA bylaws and any contractual obligations and propose to the Board any suggestions for change.
  • Diligence and advise on any emergency legal issues.
  • Create a NLA Legal Response Guide for current topics of interest.
