The mission of Norwalk Lacrosse Association (NLA) is to have a positive impact on the community of Norwalk, Connecticut, through teaching the sport of lacrosse to boys and girls residing in Norwalk. NLA strives to provide an opportunity for participants to have fun in a safe and inclusive environment while developing physically, emotionally, and socially. Programs will encourage individual skill development and physical fitness while emphasizing positive lifelong skills like teamwork, leadership, self-confidence, sportsmanship, respect, and empathy. NLA will strive to foster participation across all communities in Norwalk. NLA helps to encourage an open lacrosse community for the city of Norwalk by helping support Brien McMahon and Norwalk high school lacrosse programs as well as by offering events for lacrosse enthusiasts of all ages.
The NLA program is built on a tradition of community, positive attitude, inclusion, and a healthy competitive spirit. All members of the program strive to uphold this tradition through hard work, enthusiasm, and responsibility. NLA is a member of the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), a nationwide organization whose goal is to promote a positive youth sport culture and experience.
NLA is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, community based, volunteer organization. is a member of US Lacrosse, the national governing body of the sport and the Connecticut New York Youth Lacrosse Organization (CONNY), which includes fifty-five community based youth lacrosse programs fielding nearly 600 separate teams across Connecticut, Westchester County, NY and New York City. and US Lacrosse.
